Shortly after 9pm on New Years Day, the North Shenango Fire Dept was alerted to a structure fire on Linesville Rd. 17-9 responded first with 17-1 and 17-8 responding shortly after. Quint 17-9 arrived to find a two story brick residential structure with fire showing from the 2nd floor gable end. Crews quickly advanced a line upstairs and found one room with small fire and a heavily involved attic. As crews from 17 began to open up the ceiling and continue the attack, Jamestown Dept 89 arrived and quickly preformed vertical ventilation. Next arriving Andover VFD, Linesville VFD, and Fallowfield FR all assisted with fire attack, search, checking for extension, salvage and extensive overhaul. While crews operated inside, Conneaut Lake Park VFD stood by on scene as the RIT and CLAAS stood by for EMS. Dept 5 & 15 both set up water supplies to insure that adequate water was available for crews on scene. All crews on scene preformed excellent to keep this “Could of been real bad” fire from getting out of hand. Dept 17 went back in service at 1:21 am
